Teeth whitening
Why do teeth get darker?
For many reasons. The most common ones are the natural aging, use of coloring substances, such as coffee, tea, cola, red wine etc. Intake of tetracycline and other antibiotics or excessive amount of fluorine during the teenage teeth formation period may also lead to teeth darkening.
Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes. Abundant in-depth investigations and clinical tests prove teeth whitening under dentist's supervision, is completely safe. However, just like any other whitening system, Zoom!™ is not recommended for children under 13 as well as to pregnant and nursing mothers.
How does the clinical system Zoom!™ work?
|
Light emitted by the Zoom!™ lamp activates the whitening gel ingredient — hydrogen peroxide. This helps recover oxygen which penetrates into enamel and dentin and whitens dark pigments without changing the tooth structure. |
What does the whitening gel Zoom!™ consist of?
The whitening system Zoom!™, as well as all other whitening technologies adopted in the world practice, uses the hydrogen peroxide based whitening gel. However, due to the complex chemical composition, the gel used in the Zoom!™ system has the Ph level of 7.5-8.5 (an absolutely neutral acid-base balance like the one existing in the man's oral cavity).
How effective is Zoom!™ whitening?
|
The Zoom!™ technology guaranties whitening up to 6 shades per the VITA scale (in certain cases, up to 12 shades). This allows not only the removal of the acquired pigment (from tea, coffee, red wine), but also the lightening of the dentin's inherent color. |
Are there any contraindications?
Contraindications to whitening with the Zoom!™ systems are very few. They are normally referred to by the doctor during examination. These are mostly multiple caries on surfaces subject to whitening. But in this case the issue shall be teeth treatment rather than whitening.
How much time does the procedure take?
What takes a very long time with the use of conventional whitening systems (the patient shall put on removable kappas for 60-90 minutes ones or twice a day over 3 to 4 weeks, or even sleep with them for 8 hours), is achieved over three 20-minute procedures with the use of ZOOM, that means during a single visit to dentist.
May there be any side effects?
Some patients may have temporary gain in teeth sensivity to cold during the whitening process. These symptom disappear in 1-3 days after the end of the procedure.
